If you’re like me, there’s nothing worse than getting up in the morning and looking at your face in the mirror to see that it looks like someone rubbed sandpaper all over you. I’m sure I’m not alone. That’s why I use reusable makeup remover pads! They are so much better for my skin because they don’t contain any harsh chemicals or alcohol, which can dry out my complexion and make me look older than I am.

They also save money on disposable cotton rounds, which can get expensive after a while. And let’s be honest, who wants to spend their time every night washing piles of cloth? My favorite part about using these is that I wake up with puffy eyes (thanks, allergies).

Reusable face pads good for your skin

reusable face padsI never knew that reusable makeup remover pads existed–until I read this blog post!  It seems like such a simple idea: replace your disposable makeup remover with a reusable one. But the benefits of doing so are huge, and not just for your pocketbook. For starters, there’s no more throwing away plastic or paper towels, which means less garbage in our landfills and oceans. Plus, you’re reducing your use of harsh chemicals on your skin because these pads can be washed and reused up to 25 times (and they’re fragrance-free). What do you think? Most people would agree that it sounds like an awesome idea.

I am a busy woman. I have family, work, and other commitments, so when I get out of the shower in the morning, it’s important that my makeup is easily removed with one simple step. For this to happen, I use reusable makeup remover pads.

These babies are perfect because they can be used repeatedly, making fewer disposable trips to the store. They’re also more eco-friendly than traditional wipes! Plus, they’re just as effective at removing face or eye makeup.

How to make your makeup remover cloths

I know it seems like a minor detail, but I think we can all agree that no one enjoys the feeling of oily makeup around their eyes. We also know how expensive and wasteful disposable cotton pads are. So why not try reusable makeup remover pads? They’re easy to make and will save you money in the long run! Here’s what you need:

  1. old washcloth or cloth napkin;
  2. fabric glue;
  3. two pieces of felt (cut into 1 inch by 4-inch rectangles);
  4. scissors;
  5. velcro (for optional closure). Cut out your felt rectangles and place them on top of each other with adhesive sides facing down. Fold over an edge, so they form a pocket.

I’m not sure how I ever lived without these. I used to use cotton balls, but it takes so long to dry, and they’re expensive too! With reusable makeup remover pads, you can wash them off in the sink when you’re done. They are also great because it saves a lot of money that would have otherwise been spent on disposable items like paper towels or tissues which inevitably end up in the trash. It’s a win-win situation – save money and reduce your carbon footprint all at once.
